Historia Según la tradición fue habitada por los pelasgos y los danaos. Los hallazgos arqueológicos demuestran su origen micénico. El núcleo más antiguo surgió en el llamado Kastro (antes Larisa), con situación no distinta de la vecina Micenas. En sus proximidades se han descubierto restos de tumbas semejantes a los de esta localidad, de la que debió ser feudataria, según la tradición.
