Fuentes Citada por Estrabón como Pompélon (Geographika, III 4, 10) y por Ptolomeo como Pompailón (Geographike hyphegenesis, II 6,66), Plinio 'el Viejo' (pompelonenses, Naturalis historia, III 4, 24) se refiere a ella como ciudad estipendiaria; también aparece citada como Pompelone en el Itinerario de Antonino (455, 5) y en el Anónimo de Rávena IV, 43 (311, 13).
